Project Forward

An initiative led by Design and Development leadership to repurpose excess materials into fashion-forward garments. The experience sparked creativity, collaboration, and a lot of fun along the way.

For this project, I designed the jacket and the cut-out pattern for the top. The jacket features a built-in carrying bag — when packed, the handle transforms into a belt, allowing it to be worn seamlessly as a jacket or carried as a bag.

The design concept centered around the Swoosh, which was thoughtfully integrated into every element: pockets, ventilation, closures, handles, 3D swooshes on the pant and jacket, and even the quilting pattern.

Despite the abundance of Swoosh details, the execution remained balanced — subtle where it needed to be, and bold only when it counted. The result was a collection that felt both expressive and refined, embodying the spirit of motion and innovation.

Project [Van]

The Van Project began when I noticed excess materials about to be discarded while I was working on special projects. I brought together people and resources to repurpose them into new, usable products.

Partnering with Nike’s Online Employee Store (Van), we produced several styles using these recovered materials — including fleece tops, blanks, and specialty bags. Some pieces were sold as-is, while others became part of an internal design contest featuring exclusive graphics for Nike employees.

Lauren won the contest with her iconic designs, which became a defining highlight of the project.

This project was co-led with Elizabeth(R), who owned the business side and managed operations.

Jordyn(L), representing Van, was instrumental in making the partnership possible and bringing the project to life.

The first batch of products not only diverted waste from disposal but also generated profit, covering costs and proving that creativity and sustainability can go hand in hand.

On the day of the product photoshoot, we joined the Van team and captured the excitement of seeing the project come to life together.
